Abstract
Because the provider and universities have different missions and goals, Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) terms often must be negotiated to accommodate the needs of both parties. Issues relating to receipt of materials for research purposes, the process for establishing an MTA, and terms in MTAs that may conflict with laws or university policies will be discussed.
