Abstract
Included will be a discussion of the basic principles of trademark law, how trademarks differ from copyrights, when formal trademark registrations may be helpful or necessary, and what campus resources are available to faculty and staff; and, campus policy and legal issues related to the sponsorship of university activities by non-university entities, including the process for establishing a sponsorship agreement, and limitations on how sponsorship support can be acknowledged by the university.
