The Bioinformatics Resource Center (BRC) is a UW Biotechnology Center facility that provides bioinformatics support for high-throughput nucleic acid sequence data. We assist researchers with a wide variety of projects, including genome assembly, SNP detection, ChIP-Seq and expression profiling using RNA-Seq, RIP-seq, and small RNA analyses.
We provide basic computational support for analysis of the data produced by next generation sequencers at the UW Biotechnology Center DNA Sequencing Facility so that it can be delivered to researchers in a usable form. We also provide project-specific advanced bioinformatic analysis for researchers with high throughput sequence data. BRC provides these services both for on-campus investigators as well as external customers, and for data generated at the UWBC or elsewhere.
Users are encouraged to review the BRC policies document, which details the policies for data processing, analysis, storage, and access to the computer lab. It is highly recommended that users complete a copy of the BRC Job Submission Form before the completion of their sequencing run.
BRC provides several workstations in the BRC computer lab (Biotech 1226) to end users for data analysis. Contact us to schedule your session. The list of softwares installed on workstations can be found in the BRC software library.
