Alan Crossley is a Wildlife wildlife biologist with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Since Feb. 28, 2002, he, like many of his colleagues, has spent most of his time working on the Chronic Wasting Disease issue. He has worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as a wildlife biologist since 1984, spending at least a part of his time promoting the importance of wildlife management on private lands. Alan Crossley was born and raised in Missouri where he received a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation and Management from Southwest Missouri State University in 1978.

Presentation:

Alan will present a field-level perspective on the DNR's approach to tackling Chronic Wasting Disease. He will focus his presentation on the real world challenges of trying to fight a disease in a free-ranging herd of animals, covering a 411-square mile area, owned by at least 2,800 different people, many of whom have widely divergent opinions on the Department's management plan.
