Genome Editing Core

Translational Genomics Facility and Transgenic Animal Facility

Full Service CRISPR Facility

Our facility offers a full range of genome editing and animal model services. We can provide expert advice from experimental design to production of genetically engineered models. Some of our services include:
  • Design consultation
  • Reagent Preparation
  • Transgenic Animal Production
  • Embryo Microinjection

Please contact Kathy Krentz for animal services and Dustin Rubinstein for design and reagent preps.

Captain Genome

Introducing Dustin Rubinstein

Our New Translational Genomics Facility Director

Dustin has experience as a genome editor with many model systems and has designed and executed dozens of successful genome edits. He has a published track record of developing and optimizing CRISPR/Cas9 as part of UW's flyCRISPR group while a Research Associate in Prof. Kate O'Connor-Giles' lab. We look forward to Dustin expanding our expertise related to CRISPR/Cas9 and allowing us to offer even more great services. Contact Dustin to discuss your project today!

The Transgenic Animal Facility provides UW Madison researchers access to the latest technology for generating transgenic and gene targeted animals at a reasonable cost. We also provide related services such as embryo cryopreservation and strain rederivation.

Facility staff provide the expertise, laboratory space, and pathogen-free animal quarters necessary for the efficient production of transgenic and RNA or gene targeted mice and rats.

Clients may receive guidance in DNA and RNA preparation for microinjection, transgenic animal husbandry, and analysis of transgenic and gene targeted animals.
